He Who Loves His Job

If you don't get after it in life other people will get after it for you. they will recruit you to do their bidding. Time and time again, when I have found myself in deep meaningful work I am unaffected by others. When I take the time to death scroll or watch useless videos however, not only does my time fly away and I get nothing done (net negative), I also get called over to do other people's work. In some situations, it is community work that we all have to do and in that case it is understandable. The premise here is this though, When you waste time, watch useless things, and then get dragged over into mindlessness it is a catastrophe.  You lose moments of your life, you do not even get the entertainment from what you were trying to watch in the first place (although you should not be wasting time watching useless videos period), and you get dragged in to doing things you really are not passionate about nor provide the maximum amount of value to the world. You have got to get around your people. There are garbage men (huge respect to garbage men) who love their job. They love it so much, that they may even ask the warehouse workers at the garbage depot to help them go and collect garbage. To the warehouse worker that is probably the last thing they would ever want to do. To the garbage man though, they associate their love of garbage collecting with other garbage collectors and even people who are remotely close to their field by any means of association. This is what you must avoid. The garbage man means no harm. He does not want to waste your time. He just loves what he does, and in his strikes of passion for his work he believes that by reaching out to others that he may spread his passion on to others. There is a synergistic association to this. You need to surround yourself with people who are remotely (and preferably directly) associated with your dreams and passions. You will be far more likely to get invited to events in which things you care about take place. New opportunities will present themselves for you in regards to really lights a fire within you through the means of networking. Opportunities will shine brightly in these moments when your hope is filled high and you take all the steps in the direction of your desires. These may not be literal processes, one after the other. They may be things as simple as being in the right place at the right time.
     Say for example you like yachts. You have always dreamed of owning one, so you go and get a job at a yacht club. Odds are the captains of other yachts are not going to speak to you about their love for collecting garbage. Instead, they may spin tales of the journeys they have taken, the lifestyle they live, and how they came to acquire their yacht(s) in the first place. See where this is going? All it takes is one person to say something such as "I got my yacht while selling them at XYZ business". From there you may be inclined to go and work for that business or get into such industries pertaining to that field. All along the way you will be inspired and motivated by things that stick out to you by working near your passions. Do not waste this time out of your life. Get up, get after it, and never fall of the rails again.
