The Double-Down Technique

The Double-Down Technique is a method of punishment that in unorthodox from standard procedure. In many cases it may be best to used for close family relations and personal development. It is tremendously effective. The process goes like this: When an action is taken that is not desired one can counter further actions in the future first by imposing a punishment to one's self or other for whom they are accountable for. Next, if the problem is repeated a second time, the punishment doubles for that offense as well. The same goes for the third offense, however you can see where things get out of hand very quickly. This type of self-regulation is paramount to constructive learning, especially for younger individuals. The trick is to make the punishment worse than committing the egregious act or not doing the desired act. This way you will rather do the task rather than face the punishment, because facing the punishment is calculated to be worse than boredom. You have to trick your brain.
